The new free student legal advice service is just Step One in the journey for Regina SLAC to become University of Regina’s next student service centre.
Similar to RPIRG, the Women’s Centre and UR Pride, Regina SLAC will be a centre that will directly serve students and operate independently of URSU.
Along with proving free legal advice and services, Regina SLAC will also operate a legal action team.
The legal action team will work directly with students to combat any systemic issues on campus as they relate to discrimination, harassment, oppression. The team will also work with students looking to advocate for policies and structure to make our campus more equitable and accessible.
SLAC will be transformed from an URSU service to a full fledged service centre by procuring funding from government grants, sponsorships and internal funding from the campus community.
